Clearance of the monastery

The demining group of the Interdepartmental Training Center of the Engineering Forces of the RF Armed Forces has completed the complete cleaning of the territory of the Resurrection New Jerusalem Monastery from explosive objects.

After examining more than 40 hectares of terrain, sappers found mortar shells of the times of the Great Patriotic War, caliber 50 and 82 mm, as well as RGD-33 grenades. All 19 discovered ammunition was removed from the territory of the monastery and destroyed at a special training ground.

The Resurrection New Jerusalem Monastery, located in Istra near Moscow, is a cultural heritage site of federal significance. The architectural ensemble of the monastery is included in the golden fund of Russian architecture.
